Film composition and orchestration

Scoring the moments that move you, orchestrating emotions that resonate.

BACKGROUND

As mentioned earlier in my portfolio, When I moved to Nashville, I had an opportunity to study under the mentorship of David Shipps. Along with David, I also had the opportunity to study with Kris Crunk who taught me how to work with MIDI Programming and scoring. With both David and Kris’s guidance, I gained a solid education/experience in orchestrating and film composition, further expanding my palette of what I can offer. I can not only write your score, but orchestrate it as well. Since then, I have gained more experience and feel confident in my ability to score. Feel free to check out some cues I worked on while on an internship from when I first moved to town!

IMPORTANT NOTE: This section of my portfolio highlights just two scores. However, I have a dedicated scoring portfolio that includes these works and many others. To explore the full collection, click here.

Internship Project m01 “Snow Speeder Chase”

  • For my final project during my Fall 2024 internship, I was tasked with scoring a scene, and I chose a deleted scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I selected this particular scene because, let's face it, who wouldn’t jump at the chance to work on a thrilling chase sequence? In this project, I took on multiple roles, including composer, orchestrator, programmer, and part preparation. It was an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in every aspect of the scoring process.

IT m01 “Eddie Meets Pennywise”

  • This project was a self-initiated challenge that I designed as a fun and dynamic exercise. I wanted to score an action-packed horror movie cutscene that was fast-paced and high-energy. I chose a scene from one of my favorite movies and decided to dive in. Similar to my Internship Project, I took on multiple roles, including composer, orchestrator, and programmer. In addition to the classic orchestra sound that I love to score, I also decided to be a bit more modern and use SFX to add more layers to the score. It provided another opportunity to hone my skills and foster my growth as both a composer and orchestrator.
