BACKGROUND
When I moved to Nashville, I had the incredible opportunity to enhance my study of orchestration under the mentorship of David Shipps. This experience opened my eyes to the world of how to craft an orchestrated score that supports what a composer/arranger originally had in mind. Under his guidance, I honed my skills in writing for orchestras, small groups, and hybrid studio setups. I’ve been fortunate to work on a variety of projects that have expanded my understanding of orchestration.
ORCHESTRATION EXAMPLES
Large Ensemble
Large Ensemble orchestration for a film cue. For this project I was originally given just a piano staff. From there, I orchestrated the work into a full orchestral score.
String section
String Orchestration for a pop tune. For this project, I was given lead-sheet and was asked to lift the song up by adding strings.
